Brief history Volvo met the Swedish Army's demand for a powerful artillery tractor to replace the TVB type and complement the imported Skoda model. The development of the new larger and heavier off-road vehicle used technology and experience from previously produced off-road vehicles as well as imported equipment. The vehicle was equipped with all-wheel drive, powered by a Scania Vabis 6N30/2 six-cylinder with 140 hp. Over time, the engine power was found to be insufficient and was replaced by a more powerful 180hp Volvo D96 diesel engine when the vehicles were next upgraded.
