Battalion of Support to Deployable Forces

The Deployable Forces Support Battalion is a directly subordinate unit of the Logistics Agency designed to provide logistical support in the area of host-nation support on the territory of the Czech Republic and to provide logistical support to its own and allied forces on and off Czech territory. In 2016, an organizational element was established in the Rakovnik barracks to create the 45th Mechanized Battalion under the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade, which later moved under the 15th Engineer Regiment. In 2018, it then came under the Logistics Agency as the Organizational Element to form the Host Nation Support/Reception, Staging and Onward Movement (HNS/RSOM) Battalion - today's Deployable Force Support Battalion.


Structure:


1st Support Company
The main task of the 1st Company is to provide logistical support for HNS support. The task is to operate a convoy support site on Czech territory (equipment movements) where accommodation, catering, medical support and hygiene for soldiers will be provided. The site will also be used for equipment parking and fuel resupply. Another task will be to provide parking for vehicles transporting ammunition and to remove unserviceable equipment.


2nd Support Company
The main task of the 2nd Support Company is to secure the Convoy Support Centre in the Czech Republic and abroad for the benefit of NATO, EU and UN forces, which will provide passing convoys with the opportunity to refuel their equipment. This site will include accommodation, catering, hygiene and first aid for troops of the moving units. The unit is also capable of providing parking for equipment and ammunition.


3rd Support Company
Operates a staging area for troops and materiel. It provides accommodation, catering, sanitary facilities and medical support for up to 500 personnel and parking and refuelling for 200 pieces of equipment per day. The mission is similar to that of the second company. In addition, it can handle material up to 500 tons and up to 200 containers.


Command Company
The role of the command company is to provide for the needs of the day-to-day running of the headquarters. The company builds the battalion command post in the field and assigns its members to protect and defend that post. It also handles the construction and necessary engineer modifications for the damaged equipment assembly area and the field ammunition depot. The company has a liaison platoon which is designed to provide liaison within the battalion. The mobile control team platoon is capable of coordinating, controlling and monitoring traffic at important transport nodes (railway stations, airports, ports, border crossings). Main types of equipment: trucks with trailer, biological and chemical survey vehicle, workstation R-7M1p.


Logistics Company
The primary mission of the Logistics Company is to provide logistical support to the battalion's units. To implement the handling, transportation, and storage of all types of material. It is capable of performing maintenance and repair of battalion equipment. It takes care of the clearance and removal of damaged equipment. The company ensures the operation and protection of the military equipment assembly area and the field ammunition depot. Main types of equipment: truck with trailer, containers, mobile workshop, tractor-trailer.


Binding
The dressing station will provide basic medical care, build field dressing stations, provide initial specialist treatment of the wounded, triage and move them from the combat area. It also provides medical training for individuals and CLS (Combat Life Saver) specialists. Currently, the dressing station is involved, for example, in regular testing of the unit's professional soldiers. In addition, they provide shooting, KC of driver training, etc. Another unit involved in the operation of the battalion is the so-called Garrison Support Element, which provides tasks related to the operation of garrison facilities and buildings.
