Note:		 44. smíšená brigáda vznikla 31. prosince 1936 z kolony, které velel velitel pěchoty José Mª Enciso Madolell, který byl na začátku války kapitánem prezidentského praporu v Madridu. Brigáda bránila madridskou frontu a nejprve byla soustředěna v Barajas pro výcvik. Po dokončení výcviku se stala součástí 8. divize. Svůj křest ohněm měla při útoku na Hospital Clínico de la Ciudad Universitaria 17. ledna 1937 ale do bitvy u Jaramy nezasáhla. 44. smíšená brigáda byla vždy podřízena 8. divizi a pokrývala sektor od El Parda po Sierru, frontu, na které neprobíhala žádná jiná činnost než samotná poziční válka. 10. března 1939, opustila své pozice mezi Villafranca del Castillo a Cerro de los Ángeles, a odešela do Madridu na podporu komunistické strany, aniž by její přítomnost sloužila k rozhodnutí v boji proti Casadovi. V důsledku tohoto postoje byli na konci povstání jejich velitelé sesazeni a nahrazeni. 44. smíšená brigáda zanikla 27. března 1939. The 44th Mixed Brigade was formed on 31 December 1936 with columns commanded by infantry commander José Mª Enciso Madolell, who was captain of the presidential battalion in Madrid at the beginning of the war. The brigade defended the Madrid front and was first concentrated in Barajas for training. After completing the training, it became part of the 8th Division. She had her baptism by fire during the attack on the Hospital Clínico de la Ciudad Universitaria on January 17, 1937, but did not intervene in the battle of Jarama. The 44th Mixed Brigade was always subordinate to the 8th Division and covered the sector from El Pardo to the Sierra, a front on which no activities other than the positional war itself took place. On March 10, 1939, she left her position between Villafranca del Castillo and Cerro de los Ángeles, and went to Madrid to support the Communist Party, without her presence being used to decide in the fight against Casado. As a result of this attitude, at the end of the uprising, their commanders were deposed and replaced. The 44th Mixed Brigade ceased on March 27, 1939.
