HESA Šáhid-136

The Shahid-136 drone is transported and fired from a container containing 5 drones. The launch is from a horizontal position (slightly upwards) directly from the container, with the necessary flight speed of the drone supplied by the launch rocket (Rocket Assisted Take Off - RATE). The drone uses a "swarm" when several assets are sent into the target area simultaneously, overwhelming the air defense system and increasing the chance of destroying the primary target. According to some sources, primary composite materials are used in the construction of the drone, which reduces the possibility of the drone being detected by radars. Based on an analysis of usage to date, drones mostly operate in pairs, where one of the drones is "dedicated" to air defense while the other destroys the primary target.

Wreckage of Shahid-136 (No. M214) near the Ukrainian town of Kupyansk, September 2022 (publication date 13.09.2022?). The downed drone is claimed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian unofficial sources deny this as usual and describe the photos as debris left after a successful target hit.


Other debris (No. M205) is documented from 20.09.2022 near the town of Mykolayiv. The deployment of the above munitions is also recorded from other areas along the front line, as well as in areas far from the front line, in the last decade of September 2022. For example, on 23.09.2022, attacks by a pair of drones were recorded in Odessa (the shooting down of the third one is attributed to the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces), on the same day there are also dated images of a shooting down near the city of Dnipro.
