history
The unit is formed 4. November 1918 at the airport Hainault Farm as a night fighter, but after the conclusion of the truce was 13. June 1919 disbanded without completed training.
Restored 24. October 1941 again as a night fighter from "a" squadron 256. squadron at the base Ballyhalbert and here are valid until December 1942, when it transferred to north Africa. In the Mediterranean, operates up to its dissolution 5. September 1944.
Reincarnated 7. October of the same year at the base of the Kirmington, this time as a bomber unit, and up to the end of the war, carried out mostly night raids on targets in Germany and occupied Europe. After the termination of transports to Britain of the former allied prisoners and british troops from Italy. Carried out and dropping of humanitarian aid to zátopami affected the Netherlands (operation "Manna"). 28. September 1945 is dissolved.
The last time is activated 28. February 1955 once again as a night fighter to the base of the West Malling, but already 1. July 1958 is repealed.
