The M1132 Stryker ESV (Engineer Support Vehicle) provides the engineering team with a highly mobile, protected means of transport to the necessary place on the battlefield. The vehicle is equipped with means for removing common obstacles, clearing mines, marking minefields and creating passages in them. It provides mobility, protection and topographic support of the Brigade Tactical Group (IBCT) in all types of surfaces and especially in urban areas. The engineering element of the brigade is designed to ensure mobility by creating passages and releasing equipment. The operational intention is, where possible, to circumvent obstacles and deploy ESC teams only when necessary. When deployed for demining, human-operated or robotics, sensor-equipped devices controlled from inside the vehicle are used.
