In 10/1927, in the factory Krupp (artillery design department) work began on the design of a self-propelled platform for carrying parts (Motorlafette, later renamed leichte Selbstfahrkanone (L.S.K.)). At the meeting of the company's representatives with the representatives of WaPrüf 4, a sketch AKF 1558 dated on November 21, 1927 was presented. It was a mount of a modified 7.5 cm field cannon P (Feldkanone P). The crew was to consist of three people (driver, shooter and charger). There were 76 divided rounds of ammunition in two ammunition baskets.

On November 25, 1927, further sketches of AKF 1559, 1560 and 1562 were presented for preliminary design designs of 3.7 cm and 7.5 cm Geschütz auf Motorlafetten (Tanzerstörer). The layout of the crew was modified, thus reducing the overall height of the machine to 1300 mm. In the case of armament 3.7 cm cannon was to form a stockpile of ammunition 100 rounds. A wooden model of a platform with a 7.5 cm cannon in a scale of 1: 1 was shown to the Waffenamt on June 29, 1928. Following comments, some structural parts of the project were to be modified. The company Krupp stated in the report on the fiscal year 1928/29 the gain of a contract for the construction of two platforms worth 132,000.- RM. The company's report on the fiscal year 1929/30 states the delivery of two prototypes and their testing in Meppen for 169,781 RM. The TTDs of the prototype platforms are listed in the table. The chassis consisted of 14 small diameter wheels on each side suspended by complicated suspension. The belts had rubber pads. The prototypes were 21.8.1930 delivered for testing to the Kraftfahrversuchsstelle Kummersdorf, where the complicated chassis as very problematic. After driving 84 km, he was returned to Krupp's factory in 11/1930 to mount a new chassis mechanism with six large castors on each side sprung by independent springs. The L.S.K. thus modified. was sent back to Kummersdorf in 11/1931. Here he underwent further test drives. During the period 1931-1933, he drove a total of 1975 kilometers. The modified platform weighed 8910 kg, with armament, fuel, crew and ammunition, the curb weight was up to 9100 kg. The belts were of complete design and one belt consisted of 86 links. The development of the 7.5 cm cannon was a separate program. The design was completed in 3/1930, the first test shots were made in 11/1930, acceptance was confirmed in 1/1931. In 7/1932 an electromagnetic trigger was installed. The originally intended lafetation of the 3.7 cm cannon was not realized. However, the Waffenamt on the L.S.K. lost interest and the program was canceled.
