Volksartillerie-Korps (motorisiert) 388


After the formation of the corps (originally referred to as Artillerie-Korps (motorisiert) 388) on the basis of Heeres Artillerie Brigade 388 consisting of the affiliation of Heeres-Artillerie Abteilung II./42 became the IVth Detachment, Heeres-Artillerie Abteilung II./43 became the Vth Detachment and 672. Heeres Artillerie Abteilung became VI.
It fought on the Eastern Front to support the II Airborne Corps, then subordinated to the XII SS Army Corps, but during the Ardennes offensive it served to support the I SS Leibstandarte Tank Corps.

Section VI (equipped with 6x mortar 21 cm Mrs. 18 and 3x cannon 17 cm K 18 in Mrs. Laf.)
