20.08.1918 - arises at the base of the Newhaven the merger of several separate squadrons (no. 408, 409 and 514) of the coastal air force, and until the end of the war, carried out anti-submarine patrols over the English channel
15.05.1919 - dissolved
30.10.1939 - restored as a fighter at the base of Church Fenton in large part formed the canadian staff (hence the unofficial name), during the fighting in France operates over the local battleground (part of the unit to operate directly from the French bases), after participating in the Battle of Britain and after its termination plugs into offensive operations over the continent
13.01.1942 - shifting to Singapore, but after heavy fighting and losses is the rest of its personnel assigned to other units in the area

10.04.1942 - restored again as a fighter at the base of the Turnhouse in the Uk, where it ensures the protection of the defence of Scotland, north of England

15.11.1944 - restored at the base of the Stoney Gross as a transport unit, in this role, she is also active in the postwar period, and involved, for example, on the "air bridge" to a besieged Berlin (1948-1949)
