The prototype LeO 455.01 had its first takeoff on December 3, 1939. It used more powerful engines Gnome Rhone 14R with a two-stage turbocharger. This prototype was destroyed on the ground after the outbreak of fighting in May 1940 during the bombing. During the war, during renewed production LeO 451 and modifications LeO 451T two more pieces of aircraft were made LeO 455. The fate of the first I could not find out, the second aircraft LeO 455 was confiscated by Germany in 1944 and taken to Rechlin for tests. Here the traces of him are lost. After the end of the war in 1945, it was finally time to complete the development of LeO 455. However, the new aircraft were not manufactured, the already manufactured and used LeO 451 were used for reconstruction. From LeO 451, No. N.601, N.499 and N.500 were made LeO 455 Nos. N.3, N.4 and N.5. These three aircraft were subsequently used by SNECMA (aircraft engine manufacturer) to test the Gnome Rhone 14R engines. The tests took place in June 1947 in Villacoublay and Villaroche. Using a two-stage turbocharger, the engines reached 1335 hp at 2,500 m and 1,225 hp at 6,700 m.
The other five aircraft LeO 451 has been modified to standard LeO 455 since 1948 until June 1950. The aircraft were equipped with special photographic equipment and received the designation LeO 455Ph (photographigue). They were numbered 1 to 5 and with registration marks F-BBLD, F-BBTM, F-BBTN, F-BBTO and F-BCAG flew in the 3rd Esc. GEP ( Groupe d'Escadrilles Photographiques) in favor of IGN ( Institut Geographique Nationale) until 1956, when they were phased out.
