9S52 „Poľana-D4“ (9С52 „Поляна-Д4“):


Development of an automated command system for anti-aircraft missile brigades armed with PLRK S-300V (С-300В), or PLRK "Buk" ("Бук") 9S52 Polana-D4 (9С52"Пол❷на-Д4") was launched based on the decision of the Commission of the Presidium of the SM of the USSR on Military-Industrial Issues (Комиссии Президиума СМ СССР по военно-промышленным вопросам) dated 29. 6. 1977 a 27. 8. 1981. The development of the system was commissioned to the Scientific Research Institute of Automation of Minradioproma (Научно-исследовательским институтом средств автоматизации Минрадиопрома). The main designer of the project was G. A. Burlakov (Г. А. Бурлаков).
The main task of the ASV 9S52 (9С52) is to address the tasks of planning and organizing the combat activities of anti-aircraft missile brigades and automated control of these activities in repelling massive strikes of adversary air attack assets and ballistic homing missiles.
From 05/1985 to 06/1986 the prototype ASV was subjected to state tests. The tests were conducted in two stages - the first stage included tests of the correctness of the functionality of the mathematical equations used for calculations, tests of the ASV's timing and accuracy characteristics, and also checks of the system's information interfacing capability with other systems of the automated air defense command system, many of which had not yet been completed. In the second phase, carried out at the Emben polygon ( Эмбенском полигонe) tests of the tactical and technical characteristics of the system were conducted under real-world conditions, both of air targets and of information interfacing with other ASV systems and subordinate PLRK systems.
The trials were successful, and individual PLR brigades achieved an increase in combat effectiveness of 20-23% (S-300V) or 35-37% (Buk-M1) using the new system. In terms of its characteristics, the new system significantly outperformed its predecessor (ASV Polana-D1 (Поляна-Д1))

The MP06, MP02, and KP4 trailer vehicles have been unified with other vehicles used by the frontline (Army) PVO command posts in the ASV system of the frontline troops.
To provide connectivity with other elements (not included in the ASV system), various separate connectors are added to the assembly depending on the application.


In the MP06 command post, the automated posts are those of brigade commander, senior command officer (with liaison to the brigade's two antiaircraft detachments and the front (army) command post), aviation deputy, operations supervisor, command officer (with liaison to the brigade's two antiaircraft detachments), brigade intelligence chief (senior radar information processing operator), radar information processing operator, technician (engineer), and technician-coupler.


In the MP02 command and staff office, there are automated positions for the deputy brigade commander for weapons (logistics chief in our current structure), the operations section officer (alphanumeric display operator), the senior operations section officer (graphic output printer operator), and non-automated positions for two technicians.


The KP4 trailer contained automated workstations for the brigade chief of staff and the chief of operations (brigade liaison chief) - alphanumeric display operator, and 6 non-automated workstations for other brigade staff officers.


To ensure combat activity of ASV "Polana-D4" with superior, subordinate and synergistic units, the ASV assembly includes a nodal telephone exchange (liaison means) which ensures mutual exchange of operational-tactical and radiolocation information using radio telecode channels and voice communication using radio-telephone channels.


Mutual transmission of telecode information between the command post and the command post is provided by cables during work, during movement the connection is provided by radio stations (the radio station also provides a connection to the power plant operator and the MP45 technical assistance vehicle during work on site).


Site deployment and preparation for combat use takes a maximum of 20 min.

The ASV allows data transmission and command of up to 4 anti-aircraft squads armed with PLRK S-300Vs, or 9K37 Buk (9K37M1 Buk-M1), or provides the operation of the PORI-P2 command post (ПОРИ-П2), or PORI-P1 (ПОРИ-П1) radar assets included in the brigade command post assembly. It also enables the control of ASV short-range (direct defense) air defense assets 9S482M PU-12M, or 9S737 "Ranjir" (9С737 "Ранжир")


The superior level of the ASV Polana-D4 is the command post of the PVO of the front, or army. It is also assumed that the ASV Polana-D4 is involved in the ASV of the tactical grouping of the PVO troops of the state "Ray" ("Луч"), alebo "Pyramida" ("Пирамида")



Sources of information on the airspace situation for the purposes of ASV's work may include:
- PORI-P1 (PORI-P2) radar command posts,
- early warning and awareness aircraftA-50,
- command posts of anti-aircraft S-300V (9S457 / 9С457), or 9K37 "Buk" (9S470 / 9С470) anti-aircraft command posts,
- command post of a PVO front (army) from the All-Army ASV Front
- command posts of a tactical grouping of a state's air defence forces,
- command posts of fighter air forces of the VVS in the assembly of the front (army),

Aj keď bol automatizovaný systém velenia 9S52 "Poľana-D4" prijatý do výzbroje iba v roku 1986, už v nasledujúcom roku sa začal proces jeho modernizácie. Základným modernizačným prvkom bola výmena systému prenosu telekódovej informácie medzi ASV a k nemu priradenými prvkami. Pôvodný systém prenosu údajov bol nahradený unifikovaným systémom telekódového spojenia ASV frontu "Redut-2P" ("Редут-2П"), čo umožnilo príjem a odosielanie komplexnejších informácií v rámci jednotného vševojskového systému velenia. Modernizovaný ASV, s označením 9S52M "Poľana-D4M" bol do výzbroje zaradený po úspešných vojskových skúškach v roku 1990.


9S52M "Poľana-D4M1" je ďalšou modernizáciou ASV, vyvinutou po rozpade ZSSR v Ruskej federácii. Umožňuje uchovávať prijímať a uchovávať informácie až o 1000 ceľoch, z toho môže v reálnom čase sledovať 255 cieľov. ASV umožňuje riadiť až 6 podriadených jednotiek (palebných prvkov), vzájomne koordinovať činnosť so 4 prostriedkami ASV a koexistovať až so 14 ďalšími jednotkami (ASV, RRL, veliteľské stanovištia a pod.).
ASV Poľana-D4M1 môže byť riadená prostredníctvom jednoho nadriadeného ASV (veliteľského stanovišťa) a umožňuje súčasne prijímať ciele od troch prostriedkov rádiolokačného prieskumu. Má 12 pracovísk automatizovaného plánovania a riadenia boja. Je umiestnená v skriňových nástavbách na dvojici nákladných automobilov a dvojici prívesov. Súčasťou modernizovaného ASV je aj dvojica mobilných elektrocentrál.
ASV Poľana-D4M1 umožňuje v automatickom režime predávať údaje o 30 cieľoch na postreľovanie, až 60 cieľov dokáže sledovať v režime prerušenia streľby, v prípade selektívneho sledovania umožňuje sledovať až 50 cieľov v 12 sektoroch sledovania.

Ďalšou modernizáciou ASV 9S52M "Poľana-D4M" je bieloruská modifikácia označovaná ako "Poľana-RB". Tento ASV bol úspešne podrobený vojskovým skúškam a je zavedený do výzbroje vojskovej PVO Bieloruských ozbrojených síl - plrb vyzbrojených PLRK "Buk"
