Curtiss XP-60C
the Chrysler XIV-2220 engine was originally planned, but it was not completed and so the Pratt & amp; Whitney R-2800-53 Double Wasp, which powered the counter-propellers
Curtiss XP-60E
built-in Pratt engine & amp; Whitney R-2800-10 Double Wasp with a four-bladed propeller. The order for 500 P-60A-1 aircraft was canceled and only one was completed (next version)
Curtiss XP-60D
was tested with a Packard V-1650-3 engine (Rolls-Royce Merlin 61) with a four-bladed propeller; prototype was destroyed May 6, 1943 in an accident.

Pratt engine & amp; Whitney R-2800-18 Double Wasp with an output of 2,100 horses, with a teardrop-shaped cabin, tests began 07/1944 - performance worse than P- 47 Thunderbolt
