CZK - ISU (pásový buldozér)

civilné prestavby

I vaguely remember a discussion somewhere on a Czech website, where on the topic PB/BZ-34 it was mentioned that there was also a bulldozer on the IS[/i] chassis. I found one minifoto in L+K no.2/1990, article by Albert Orlit - Aerotechnik twenty years old, published by Naše Vojsko CS-OSSN 0024-1156. The machine was operating in Aerotechnik, centre III in Skotnice (in Skotnice).

Is this some kind of specialty on ISka ?

I draw from the ATOM magazine from 1979, where in one of the issues there was a report by Josef Mladejovsky from the Aerotechnical Centre No. 3, in the village Skotnice, near Nový Jičín. Here he found a group of 8 guys who, under the direction of Vladimír Babuněk, converted various equipment, among them old tanks into bulldozers. Their efforts were motivated by the lack of heavy equipment in the socialist economy. By converting armoured military equipment, they were creating socialist alternative counterpoints to heavy Western civilian equipment (Komatsu or Caterpillar bulldozers).

As I said, Mr Babuněk went through the evolution of a bulldozer builder. He started by rebuilding two ST-I tank fighters, which he obtained for rebuilding from military depots in Žilina. He mentions replacing the original Praga EPA AC/2 spark-ignition engines with a Tatra T-928 diesel engine, making his own reverse gearbox and modifying the ploughshare to hydraulic control. Later, Stemberk is said to have gotten hold of Pz.Kpfw. V "Panther", which had destroyed controls. It is mentioned here that the reason for the effort to salvage the recovered Panther and "recycle" it into a civilian bulldozer was that they wanted to save the excellent Soviet V-2 engine (Panther with V-2 engine). They then used this machine to help level the tailings piles at the Shverma I mine.
Later they rebuilt T-34, until they finally got their hands on ISU chassis. The chassis came from an operational-tactical missile carrier 8U218. In the photo attachment is the production of the bulldozer on the shortened chassis. The machine was given a cab from one of the versions of Tatra 813. The photo in my first post is probably another of the conversions on the original unabbreviated chassis with a different type of cab.

Nebolo by zlé, ak by sa táto raritka dostala do dobrých zberateľských rúk. Ak by mal niekto záujem, posuniem telefonický kontakt.
Neskôr sa možno nájde ešte nejaké dobové foto.

- gear, side clutch and transfers the original series of the "IS"
- the belts adjusted for the higher shot simply welding the steel prisms on each article
- dashboard with gauges is on the passenger side!! The driver has before him only "rajčáky!

View from the right side.

Four photos from Trebic region. As it is written in the commentary, it was made in Koněšín, it was supposed to be used to roll out stumps etc. Probably during the construction of the Dalešická dam,..."
