After successful tests with UT-2N it was decided to perform tests with the installation of an air cushion instead of the original chassis on one copy of Pe-2 -M105, referred to in some sources as Pe-2N. The tests were performed in 1941-43 under the leadership of A.D. Nadiradze, designer of the Soviet Aviation Institute CAGI. Due to the attack of the USSR by the Hitler coalition troops in June 1941, as well as the insufficient power of the engines, part of the power of which was consumed by the blower drive for the SEP, the tests could not be brought into the flight phase. The tests with Pe-2N were stopped on January 18, 1943.
