The radio stations, popularly called MARKERS, are inseparable from the non-Directional Beacon (NDB)/Locator (L) radio beacons.
It is used to signal the flight of a certain point or station. Their long-standing representative, used in the Warsaw Pact air force, was the MRM-48.

It was part of the landing systems OSP-48 and SP-50,
but also for other instrument landing systems PRMG-4, PRMG-5.

The beacon function was ensured by a transmitter operating at a frequency of 75 MHz (& # 955; = 4 m), an automatically keyed group of 2 dashes or 6 dots per second, by eliminating electromagnetic waves with a vertically oriented directional diagram in the form of a "flattened funnel". This is ensured by an antenna system with double 1/2 wave dipoles, oriented in the extended axis VPD and a reflector ("mirror"), formed in the stationary design by a metal network 6.15 mx 4.1 m, in the mobile set then folded, formed by a beam with dipoles and sheet metal perforated "wings" in the frame.
(During transport it is folded in half (like a book) and stored on the roof of the vehicle of the supply radio station PAR-3, PAR-7 , PAR-8.

For PAR-9, there is only a dipole beam and the reflector is the roof of the vehicle UAZ-452 ).

The power of the transmitter is 12W, power supply 220V/50 Hz, power consumption 500VA. Range min. 2000

The flight of the aircraft over the lighthouse is signaled on board acoustically (bell) and optically (flashing control light).

***

His "successor" became the type E-615, mounted in sets of supply radios PAR-9 of later production series, but especially in sets PAR-10 (and upgraded = automated versions of PAR-8)
In MS. Air Force, since 1986, along with the introduction of TDV transmitters, was deployed "domestic" type MKR-01 and later MKR-03.
