Hauptmann Peter Jenne
* 05.06.1920 Wittenberg/Prov. Sachsen
+ 02.03.1945 at Schmerwitz/Mark Brandenburg
Ehrenpokal : 20.11.1942
Deutsches Kreuz in Gold : 1.4. 1943
RK : 2.2.1945
Units : ZG 1, ZG 26, JG 300
In the summer of 1942 Jenne served in the 1st./ZG 1 on the Eastern Front saddling the Bf 110 Zerstorer as a combat aviator. With this aircraft he was able to knock out 12 tanks, 10 guns and 8 tubes ! From the aerial victories he claimed on 19 September 1942 at 6:13 a fighter LaGG-3 (5km from Kotlubana), on 13 December 1942 at 12:30 another fighter, the MiG-3. On July 8, 1943 at 9:30 am, he adds an Il-4 bomber to these two.
In July 1943, 1./ZG 1 is redesignated 1./ZG 26. For ZG26, the days of 20 and 22.12.1943 are undoubtedly successful for him, when he gets 3 kills of quadrupeds. First, on 20.12.1943 he sends at 13:25 to the ground B-17 over Rolde (near Assen) and two days below at 14:55 shoots down B-24 over Texel (Holland) and at 15.00 the second Liberator over Bolsward. 10 February 1944 at 12:25 claims another B-17 Fl.Fortress 6km south of Nienburg.
In July 1944, 1st /ZG 26 is renamed 1st /JG 6 and the unit receives a fighter Fw 190. On 12 September 1944, Jenne is appointed to the post of Staffelkapitan of 12th /JG 300. On 17 December 1944, this four-engine fighter claims a B-24 Liberator at 12:15 p.m., and five minutes later the same type again - a B-24. For us, it is not so interesting that it was in the Stab III lineup./On January 1, 1945 he became Gruppenkommandeur of III./JG 300.
In combat on 2 March 1945 at Schmerwitz, Hauptmann Peter Jenne is shot down (Bf 109 G - 10 W.Nr. 151 533, "Blau 1"). He dies of his wounds.
Ritterkreuz obtained on 2 February 1945 as Hauptmann and Staffelkapitän 12th/JG 300. In total, he destroyed around 12 tanks, shot down 17 enemy aircraft. At least three aerial victories were gained on the eastern front, on the "west" he shot down 12 quadrupeds!
Probably a very skilled pilot, proficient in both twin-engined fighters/fighters and single-engined day-planes,....as well as JABO equipment for fighting ground targets, and an experienced fighter of whose 14 victories on the Western Front included 12 heavy bombers.
