Order of 9 September 1944 with swords - Type II At the end of the 1950s, this order was innovated. The 1st degree star, which is considerably large ( 64 mm ) is worn in the manner of the commander's crosses, i.e. on a necklace ribbon around the neck. The letters V have been removed from the central medallion. L. Otherwise the order does not differ from the older type. On the upper tip there is a small ball with a loop, through which a decorative ring passes for hanging on a bright red ribbon . The order decoration of the 2nd degree does not differ, the letters V.L. from the middle medallion are removed The order decoration of the 3rd degree does not differ, the letters V. Part III. The widespread and popular Bulgarian Order has undergone another significant change. We could simply say that all three grades of the Order have a single roundel. The ribbon for each degree of the Order is different, considerably different . We will not describe this Order, as the uniform description given in the introductory section applies. The principle applies that the 1st degree is enamelled on both sides in all issues .In total, from the time of its foundation until the end of the awarding of the orders, a total of : 71 007 authenticated pieces were awarded . The author of the order is the Bulgarian artist B. Angelushev. Symbolically, the 1st degree of the Order with swords was awarded to Jiri Dimitrov . Part 3

In the next period, the 1st degree jewel is worn on a necklace ribbon in the manner of the commander's crosses, the 64mm size being large enough for effective wear on a neck ribbon below the neck. The cross is enamelled on the obverse and reverse, the ribbon is red - (see detail ). As a colleague who deals with this subject wrote to me, the wearing of the Order Star in the manner of the Commander's Degrees was too much tied to the " bourgeoisie " in Bulgaria The jewels of the 2nd and 3rd centuries are worn as a breast decoration in the manner of the Order Stars, size 60 mm. In this type we no longer find the letters V in the central medallion. L .
