Medal for Merit for the Protection of the Borders of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic
It is a bronze circular medal with the figure of a border guard (roughly from the waist) with a submachine gun on his chest. To the right of the figure is the border pillar, to the right are the mountains, poplars and roofs of houses. Below the figure is a five-pointed star, from which laurel branches rise, reaching roughly the height of the figure's shoulders. On the reverse, in the middle, is the coat of arms lying on a linden branch. Around the perimeter is the inscription "FOR MERIT FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE STATE BORDERS OF THE CZECHOSLOVAKIA", while the abbreviation "Czechoslovakia" is located at the bottom center and is separated from both sides by a dot.
At the top of the medal is a perpendicularly placed ear, which is placed to the ribbon through a through ring. The ribbon itself is red and is vertically intersected in the middle with a blue and white stripe and a green stripe on both edges. All stripes are 2 mm wide, the green ones are 3 mm away from the edge, the middle strips are 5 mm apart.
