The Baroque-style chateau was built between 1664 and 1666 by Marie Angela Nounkel. The building material was stone from the nearby Návarov Castle, after which it was named. The demolition of the castle was ordered by the governors of Prague in 1644. However, shortly after its completion, the castle was to have the character of an official house. The chapel of the Ascension of the Lord became part of the castle. In 1775, during the Peasants' Revolt, the castle was severely damaged. However, its owner, Count Ehrenburg, had it repaired. However, in 1827 the castle suffered again, this time by fire. It was repaired afterwards. It underwent further alterations in 1895 and was then insensitively rebuilt in 1925. After its nationalisation, it has served as a recreation centre since the 1960s. In the 1990s it was converted into a guesthouse. It is now to be used for private accommodation.
