Karviná – the Old castle

It was with originally a fortress, which we have for the first time in writing doloženu the year 1461, when it belonged to the brothers Nicholas and Peter of Karviná, it is quite likely that the fortress already existed many years earlier. In the ownership of this genus was Karviná, including the fortress in the middle of the 16th. century. Later it became a fortress together with other goods the property of the Laryšů from Lhota. You later your ancestral name poněmčili to Larisch and the year 1790 it developed on the Larisch-Mönnich. You probably in the course of the 17. century (rather after his half) fortress gave to rebuild the baroque castle. At the end of the 18. century, then Jan Larisch put a lock rebuild klasicisticky. The castle became a one floor building of rectangular plan, with entrance elevation reverse to the southwest. This façade was highlighted jednoosým central bay, and a shield decorated with the emblem of Larisch-mönnich aristocratic family. However, with the growth of the prestige of the genus and mainly thanks to the mining of coal, came to the castle to meet their demands. Already after the year 1800 lost part of its meaning, since Larischové-Mönnichové purchased and rebuilt the castle in Fryštátě. Ultimately, then, the year was 1873, built on the land Solci lock called a New lock or whether or not Solca. Since then he has served the castle as an official building – it was located here the headquarters of the central administration of the estates of the genus Larisch-mönnich aristocratic family. This function then held until 1945, when he was as German assets confiscated in favor of the czechoslovak state. However, already at that time it exhibited damage caused by mining influences. Therefore, already in the 50's. years of the 20th. century acceded to its demolition. The castle was located in the center of the village near such buildings, such as the brewery, the hotel Unger (later Banik) and a New church. Today in its place is a chp and mining tailings pond.
