Dochovaná část představuje asi jen 1/3 původního objemu hradu. Zbytek byl postupně odtěžil nebo zřítil ať z důvodu předchozí těžby, anebo vlivem eroze. Naposledy došlo k největšímu úbytku hmoty hradu v roce 2009, kdy se zřítilo i cimbuří.
