The new president of Cuba became the first vice president of the State council Miguel Díaz-Canel. Cuban parliament, it has chosen to mostly 603 votes of the 604 possible. Jailed politician so he replaced in office about three decades older Raul Castro, who remains chairman of the ruling communist party. He thus became the first leader who directly did not participate in the cuban revolution in 1959.
Miguel Díaz-Canel has promised that he will continue in His political course, i.e. to allow the slow and limited emergence of private enterprises, while maintains a system of one-party rule. The presidential election has called for commitment to a revolution that is being challenged and threatened the United states.
