Medal for Wounds
Established on 12 August 1917 by Emperor Charles I. The Staut was published on 13 July 1918 and the conditions for the award were not published until 25 July 1918. The medal was awarded to soldiers, sailors and members of auxiliary civilian units (Red Cross) who were wounded in battle. The circular medal is made of zinc alloy with a diameter of 38 mm and a weight of 23 g. On the obverse a portrait of Emperor Charles near the upper edge with the inscription CAROLVS near the lower edge two laurel branches. On the reverse side the inscription LAESO / MILITI (to a wounded soldier) and the year MCMXVIII (1918). The medal was suspended on a grey-green ribbon (field grey) with a narrow red stripe on the edge. Depending on the number of wounds (1 - 5), the ribbon had the appropriate number of narrow red stripes with a thin black border. All injuries sustained on one day or in one event were counted once. When war disability was recognized, the ribbon was without these stripes. For other injuries, only the ribbon with the higher number of stripes was awarded. The decorated also received a paper certificate with each medal. The first medals were not awarded until August 17, 1918, which implies that most of the awardees received their awards after the war directly from the manufacturer. The Wounded Service Medal is one of the few decorations that was awarded to everyone, regardless of rank, from common soldiers to officers. For example, Admiral Horty was a recipient. The medal was one of the most common decorations of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.

Oficiálne návrhy medaile a stužiek.
stužka s jedným pásikom - jedno zranenie stužka s dvomi pásikmi - dve zranenia stužka s tromi pásikmi - tri zranenia stužka so štyrmi pásikmi - štyri zranenia stužka s piatimi pásikmi - päť a viac zranení bez pásika - vojnový invalid
