The Japanese Self-Defense Air Force is missing a Micubishi F-15J that appears to have crashed into the sea waters approximately 5 km west-northwest of Komatsu Air Base

It was specified that it is a Micubishi F-15DJ reg. 32-8083, reg. no. 033, which crashed shortly after takeoff, perhaps within one minute of it, while executing a right turn. Eyewitnesses mention an explosion and smoke on the sea surface, possibly an orange light. The question is when this occurred. The wreckage of the aircraft has already been found, including parts of the rescue equipment. The two pilots have not yet been found, but it can be expected that neither of them probably survived the crash.

On 4 February, more large pieces of the wreck were found, on 10 February, pieces of wreckage were found on the seabed at a depth of around 100 m and finally on 12 February, a piece of a human body was found in the area of the accident. Although the two pilots have not yet been declared dead, there are official reports that they should have perished.
