The U.S. Department of Defense said the company General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. was awarded the contract for an 8,8 million dollars to develop an electromagnetic catapult (Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and also an interceptor landing gear (Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) for a future French aircraft carrier, so far known only as Project PA-Ng (Porte Avions de Nouvelle génération / New Generation Aircraft Carrier).
