01.02.2018 - Polský Senát schválil kontroverzní zákon o holocaustu

The Polish Senate has approved a draft law that punishes the attribution of responsibility for the holocaust to the Poles. According to the approved text, the court in the use of terms such as "Polish death camps" to grant up to a three-year prison sentence. The impetus for proposing the bill was the long-term use of the geographical indication "Polish" for example, in connection with the extermination camp in Auschwitz. Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of poland's ruling party law and justice, said that terms such as "Polish death camps" and other similar constitute "outrageous and incredibly immoral lies." In the role of the prosecutor has, according to the draft act, the Institute of national remembrance, which investigates crimes committed under nazism and communism, and also has prosecutorial powers.

Poland for the standard, which awaits only the signature of the president Andrzej Bagpipes, earned the criticism of both Israel and the United states. Israeli politicians urged prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to recall israeli ambassador in Poland.
