Badge of Honour of the 8th Hulan Regiment of Her Majesty Tatyana Nikolayevna Regiments de Uhlans No. 8 - Voznessensk
The badge of honour of this famous Hulan regiment was established on the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the regiment's foundation.
Badge of Honour Description: The golden, rather large monogram of Grand Duchess Tatyana Nikolaevna is surmounted by the so-called "God's Eye" which is the symbolism of the Patriotic War of 1812, all surmounted by a golden Tsarist crown. From the Tsar's crown come pendillas (metal ribbons) in blue enamel with the inscription (translation): 8th Hulan Chariot.
Below the monogram of the Grand Duchess are two classic and typical Hulan peaks with flags which are blue-yellow (the blue colour is above the yellow colour). The monogram itself is placed on a silver wreath on which the gold monograms of Tsars Alexander I and Nicholas II are fixed, as well as the years 1812-1912. At the very bottom are two crossed military trumpets and the Roman numeral "C" - 100.
Badge dimensions: The badge is made of gilded bronze, enamelled for officers and finished with gilding and silver plating. For non-commissioned officers and men the badge is unenamelled bronze. Size 50 x 40 mm. The manufacturer is stated to be E. Kortman.
Remark: The Grand Duchess was born on May 28, 1897 and was bestially murdered with her entire family by a Bolshevik mob on direct orders from Lenin-Ulyanov in 1918.
