Čestný odznak sapérského praporu

badge of honor sapérského battalion

The badge was based 28. October of the year 1912 on the occasion of the 100. anniversary of the battalion.

Description of the badge:
The badge takes the form of a double-headed eagle with its wings exceeded the imperial crown. An eagle holding in claws a ruler's sceptre and missiles. Honest breast plate with the figure of Sv. George slaying the dragon.

The eagle stands on a pedestal on which is the inscription on the gold plate: the Brave deeds of guard sapérského battalion (the translation in this free meaning).

This badge is a thumbnail or a copy of the memorial sapérského battalion (battalion), which was from the decision of tsar Nikolai I. built in front of the gate of the camp sapérského battalion.

The badge for officers was made of silver, but most of these are gilded bronze.

The size of the badge is a 44 x 40 mm.

The original badge is definitely not normal.
