The medal was established from a decision of the Central committee of the Communist party of Czechoslovakia, the directive dated 6. October 1972. Subsequently, the medal of the decision of the government included among the state award.

The medal was the high appreciation of the work of all members of the National front, state administration, army and police. Furthermore, it was awarded to all survivors and the people who in the events of 1948 contributed. The medal was like to be granted or rather given on occasions of state visits the comrades of the friendly countries of the Warsaw pact. The medal has a diameter of 30 mm, at a strength of 2 mm. It is well minted from bronze.

Description of the medal:
On the side we find three characters. It's about the symbolism of the company to see you through the eyes of the comrades. In the middle of the medal is a distinctive character of the civilians with a rifle over his shoulder, then a member of the "working the fists" units of the people's militia.
