Peacetime deployment of the regiment in February 1914:
Commander - Oberst Ludwig Schlichting
Regimental Headquarters, I, III and IV Battalions (Fehértemplom), II Battalion (Karánsebes)
superior units: 34th Infantry Division (VII Army Corps)


Regimental status in July 1914:
Nationality: 78% Romanians, 22% others
replenishment district: Caransebes (now Caransebes in Romania)


Enlistment of the regiment in August 1914:
IR 43 in the 68th Infantry Brigade of the 34th Infantry Division (VII Army Corps) - regiment sent to Vojvodina against Serbia and subsequently moved to the front in Halych against Russia
