Die Medaille "Für Opferwillige Arbeit für Socialism ".


The medal, which would, in any decent society was the general meritorious medal awarded for the working results. Not so in our "developed socialist society". The medal was intended for a narrow group of deserving comrades in building the imaginary of socialism. The best about it speaks itself, government regulation and the method of awarding medals, which certainly didn't do anything.

The medal was established from a decision of the Federal assembly of the CZECHOSLOVAK socialist republic (law no 153 of 14.December 1976). The medal was meant for the chosen comrades to the valuation of long-term and dedicated work of merit in the building of socialism and the valuation of the commitment for the policy of the Communist party of Czechoslovakia. Not for an honest day's work for homeland or nation, but for the "chymeru" of socialism.

The statutes of the medal determine who can be medal save:

Bestows to individuals for their long-term and committed policy in favour of the CPC, for meritorious work in the state organs, when that is consistently politically engaged and are involved in the enforcement of the policy of the Communist party. Therefore, only for a selected group of really deserving comrades-communists.

Description of the medal:

The medal has a diameter of 33 mm at a strength of 2 mm. Is minted from base metal of yellow color. On the front, somewhat bulging side is in a circle positioned to the deployed ... ... the book with the symbol of sickle and hammer., exceeded five-pointed star. The medallion is supported by a wreath of linden leaves. (see picture )

On the rear side is placed a five-pointed star. In the middle of the stars is laid on the national emblem. From under the stars radiate toward the edge of the expanding beams of which are superimposed a copy of :

FOR DEVOTED WORK FOR SOCIALISM

The medal is overtaken by a curtain, which is formed by a stylised linden leaves with the flower.

Ribbon:

Ribbon of the medal is průvlečná, 38 mm wide and 55 mm long. With a central 14 mm wide red stripe, 6 mm wide white stripe down the side. And 6 mm wide blue stripe to the boundary. For wear on civil clothing is determined by a small ribbon, which at its center carries a circular miniaturku..

The medal was indeed awarded to especially deserving comrades. In the army, for example, from the degree AFTER the (political department) of the volume. However, the medal was awarded and leading workers of the research institute and it is less known that the medal was awarded a larger amount of older actors, theaters and other cultural workers (which they surely will blame you).
Comrades of the founder realized that the company is not just made up of the people controlling the hammer or sickle. A concession, there's a book on the medal should represent the workers socialist intelligence.

Medals overall, modern, tasteful, but in its result it was already the last if you get involved in the building of socialism the whole of society. This the idea, fortunately, did not come out.
