This medal is among collectors known also under the name of the Commemorative medal for campaign against USSR in 1941.

Medal on the proposal of the gen Iona Antonescu he founded the young king Michael. day 1. April 1942. The medal was intended for all soldiers without differences of rank and position, who engaged in war happenings around the side of Germany. It can be said that its establishment and the conditions for the grant are identical with the statute of the German the Medal for winter campaign in the years 1941/42. (the Medal "Winterschlacht im Ostem 1941/1942-Ostmedaille)

Outside the soldiers of the Romanian army was the medal awarded to members of German units, on the other allies and the Hungarians, the Italians, but also members of the Slovak army. The medal is handed over in a paper bag (see picture). Medals were awarded to more than 500 000 pieces. The first embossing comes directly from the sterling court in Bucharest, but the medal was minted in Germany and Austria. For the soldiers of the allied armies were awarded without the shield with the marking of the battlefield. For the Romanian troops were set up by the labels (bronze or possibly silver-plated) with the names of battlefields 2. world war.

The medal was meant to grant these labels:

8. AZOV
9. CRIMEA
10. DONET

In our collections this medal ranks among the common medals, but in the case of the replenishment of the labels, it's a rare and collectible treasured medal. Label STALINGARD are among the labels very rare for the Romanian army bled to death and was destroyed on the plains of Stalingrad. Romanian soldiers, the leadership of the officers, who in their pride were able to sacrifice their soldiers fought bravely which i can confirm Russian sources. To illustrate. A German soldier, a participant of the campaign in the winter of 1941-42, with his Iron cross II.the class of 1939. Further on the pocket stjenokroje is nice to see "assault badge". On the sleeve then the label for the Crimea and what is important, we can see quite clearly even described the Romanian medal, which serves also as proof of the granting of this interesting medal of the German soldiers.
