Among the interesting and a little mysterious medal ranks next brunšvická medal, which refers to the period of the napoleonic wars.
Military merit medal from the year 1815 Silberne Militäverdienstmedaille 1815
Silver medal, that should be a reminder of the brave brunšvických soldiers arises rather late. German researchers reported half of the twenties of the nineteenth century.
The founder of the memorial and the meritorious medal was duke Charles, who wanted to additionally reward the soldiers medal, which would be thanking you for your service in the difficult times of wars and battles with Napoleon. The German faleristé however, they cite the fact that the medal was struck and awarded only in two copies (guaranteed originals, however, offer a dedicated auction house in the prices from 2500 euro above). Perhaps (udánlivě) there is a legend that the medal was raženo more and between the collectors also receive additional neudělené medal. About it can be successfully doubted, for each such original has a different form, a different embodiment. Medal is minted in silver with a diameter of 33 mm at a weight of 18 grams.
Description of the medal:
AVERS: On the desktop front is shown to the left inverted bust of duke Karl in period uniform with neatly groomed hair. Around is the inscription:
CARL HERZOG ZU BRAUENSCHWEIG
On useknutém the portrait of Charles is the signature of the nineteenth century and that: LECLERC F, and LEVEQUE, ED.
REVERSE: In the area of medals when the edge is bisected by a wreath composed of sprigs of laurel and oak leaves. In the area of the medal is distributed in four lines of the inscription:
FÜR / MILITÄR / VERDIENSTE. / 1815 (For military merit 1815)
RIBBON: The specified width of the stripes is 37 mm. Light blue with two white 5 mm Wide edge stripes.
The authors of this medal are French and it Levegue and Lecrec.
