Marobud came from a noble markomanského of the genus. And so, in accordance with contemporary practice, he spent his childhood as a hostage in Rome. Here he received the appropriate education and picked up roman culture. The exact date of his return to his tribe is unknown, however it was sometime before the year 9 bc. c. Marobud after coming back he became their king. Markomané then dwelt in middle Germany, but in the years bc. c. left because of the pressure of the roman legions. For their new headquarters have chosen the Czech basin. Settled in central Bohemia, Poohří, eastern and southern Bohemia. It has paid off and Rome, as Marobud in the year of the 9 refused to join the rebellion, which led cheruský Arminius. Even so, but suffered the Romans heavy losses. On the contrary Arminiova power grew. He also gradually conquering tribes that do not yet respect the Marobudovu too. Even in Marobudově surroundings of multiplied voices, which demanded better relations with Arminiem and fight against the Romans. Marobud but held their line. In the year 17 there has been a military conflict with Arminiem and in the following year he was Marobud overthrown Katvaldou. He resorted then to the roman exile and the rest of his life he spent in detention in the Ravenna.
