Fort Randolph is one of the two fortifikovaných delostreleckých position chrániacich the entrance to the Panama prieplavu of his Tichooceánskej part (the second position is to Fort Sherman, ležiaci on protiľahlom bank).


The construction of the firing position pobrežného delostrelectva sa started in 1913, and in 1916 boli completed rough construction. Dokončovacie work and preliminaries on uvedenie to prevádzky insisted to 1920, ever explored bola pevnosť prevzatá (09.04.1920) and officially pomenovaná.

Pevnosť is consisting of niekoľkými batériami:
- batéria Tidball - 4 x 12" mínomet
- batéria Zalinski - 4 x 12" mínomet
- batéria Webb - 2 x 14" delo (covered)
- batéria Weed - 2 x 6" delo (covered)

Ochre prescribed batérií are in the fort palebnépostavenia pre štvoricu 75mm 'twas and štvoricu 155mm' twas. In the period after the 1. svetovej vojne boli in areáli fort vyćhodne from batteries Tidball dodatočne vybudovamné two postavenia pre 14" železničné delo M1920.
