History / History

The base was the newly opened 10. April 1941 under the name of Royal Canadian Air Force Station Boundary Bay initially as a training base, later served for a fighter squadron of the canadian air force for the defense of the west coast. With the end of the war was in 1946 abandoned.
Reactivated in 1949 under the name Vancouver Wireless Station. In the reorganization of the canadian armed forces was renamed to the Canadian Forces Station Ladner, but already in 1971 in the context of the cuts in the budget cancelled.
In 1983, it was on the area of the former base open airport Boundary Bay Airport (IATA: YDT, ICAO: CZBB).
