Fort De Russy
Military facility protected by the zemnými valmi above the valley of Rock Creek in severozápadnej part of Washington built on začiatku občianskej the army and pomenovaný in honor of lieutenant colonel (vtedy) René Edward De Russy, an expert on pevnostné construction and a member of the velenia Ženijného corps (Corps of Engeneer). Umiestnenie strength allowed viesť krížovú paľbu on ľavé approaches to Fort Stevens (at the time of the construction of Fort Massachusetts). Vľavo from Fort De Russy sa nachádzala pevnosť Fort Kearney. Pevnosť bola armed with 3 pcs 32 pound 'twas (umiestnenými in barbetách), 6 pcs Parrotových' twas (5 x 30 pound and 1 piece of 100-pound, in that period one of the najsilnejších and najmodernejších ' twas in the vicinity of Washington) and 2 pcs mažiarov ( 1 x 10 inch and 1 x Coehornov). Ich operation to secure the team rozdelené into two batérií.

In dňoch 11.-22.07.1862 sa the garrison of the fortress podieľala to deter útokku Konfederačných forces under the command of general Jubal Early, pričom 22 ' twas and mínometov umiestnených in the fortress fired on the postupujúce Konfederačné forces pretty 109 projektilov.

After the end of the občianskej the war in 1865 bola pevnosť opustená and today they are on it mieste len zvyšky valov and information boards.
