Signs of quick recognition of the 64th Combat Aviation Regiment were the white front of the propeller cone and the white top of the direction indicator, as can be seen in the photographs from the ceremony of handing over the Il-2 fighters purchased from the financial collection of the workers of Ivanovo (hence the inscriptions on each of the aircraft - Trudyashchisya Ivanova frontu - Trududyashchie Ivanovo frontu - Workers of the Ivanovo Front).

It is hardly understandable nowadays that in wartime times of absolute scarcity of everything and a flourishing black market, workers were willing to hand over part of their wages to buy planes for the front. Even though they may have had no choice and were told to do so.
