On the chassis of VK 16.01 (Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. J), a development version of the Pz. Kpfw. II, a unique unloading tank (Bergepanzer) was to be created by mounting a frame crane. This modification was to be created in one piece only. The machine was to be captured by the Allies in Italy. Other information speaks of its inclusion in the 12th Panzer-Division on the Eastern Front, later in 1944/45 this machine was to be in the Panzer Werkstatt Kompanie 116th Panzer-Division (?). There is minimal information about this machine.
