The order dated 11.07.1942 was signed by colonel Sokolov as chief of staff of the 1st Independent Rifle Corps (1st Ssz). This is Aleksandr Mironovich Sokolov, who at the time was the Chief of Operations of the 51st Army, operating in the area of operations of the 1st Ssz. Thus, he was probably only acting chief of staff, as the performance of this function is not listed in his personnel file. He is also listed as chief of staff of the 1st ssz in Oleg Nuzhdin's book on captured Soviet generals and colonels.
