Note:		 224. smíšená brigáda byla vytvořena v létě 1937 na obranu pobřeží v Katalánsku. Brigáda byla podřízena Skupině pobřežní obrany katalánské oblasti, později se přesunula k 72. divizi XVIII. armádního sboru. S touto divizí se vydal na frontu Teruel, ale výstavba a výcvik byl natolik pozadu, že jí nebylo možné použít jinak než jako zálohu jižně od La Muela. Dne 7. března 1938 byla vyslána, stále poloozbrojená, do sektoru Belchite tváří v tvář hrozící ofenzivě národních sil v Aragónu a byla poražena, a to se opakovalo 11. března, v oblasti Escatrón a Caspe. Výsledkem těchto bojů bylo úplné rozptýlení jednotky, přičemž jeden prapor zůstal v oblasti od Pertusy po Monzón, další od Fragy po Ebro a zbytek v obraně Léridy. Brigáda byla tak rozbitá, že byla rozpuštěna. The 224th Mixed Brigade was formed in the summer of 1937 to defend the coast in Catalonia. The brigade was subordinated to the Coastal Defense Group of the Catalan region, later moved to the 72nd Division XVIII. army corps. With this division he went to the Teruel front, but construction and training were so far behind that it could not be used except as a reserve south of La Muel. On March 7, 1938, it was sent, still semi-armed, to the Belchite sector in the face of an imminent offensive by the National Forces in Aragón and was defeated, and this was repeated on March 11, in the Escatrón and Caspe area. The result of this fighting was the complete dispersal of the unit, with one battalion remaining in the area from Pertusa to Monzón, another from Fraga to the Ebro, and the rest in the defense of Lleida. The brigade was so broken that it was disbanded.
