The planned equipment of the department at that time should generally consist of four radars P-30, six radars P-15, and two radar altimeters PRV-10.

From 01.04.1967-31.08.1969
the composition of the 53. radio technical battalion were:
314. radio annoucement Lomnice nad Lužnicí
(two radars P-15, and one radar P-14, and two radiolocation altimeters PRV-10),

(after one radar P-35, P-15 and the radar altimeter PRV-11),
317. radio annoucement Třebotovice with isolated radar unit Pištín
(one radar P-35, two radars P-15, and one radar altimeter PRV-11)

(after one radar P-35, P-12 and radar altimeter PRV-11).

From 01.09.1977 the battalion was subordinated to the newly created command 3. radio brigade in Chomutov, which was associated with its internal reorganization.
Battalion headquarters were subject to the company command (Třebotovice),
530. the local radio company (Třebotovice),
532. radio rota (Sv. Tomas),
533. radio rota (Upper Vltavice) and
534. radio rota (Nová Bystřice).

In march 1992 there has been the transformation of the department to 53. the group responsible for the air survey and awareness.
