The Chief of Staff in 1942 was Colonel S. Kozak, which is evident from the signature on the attached order.


Comparing the signature on this document with that of the Deputy Chief of Staff of the 64th Army S.A. Kozak it can be stated with high probability that they are one and the same person. Thus, although there is no mention of it in his official biographies, it can be stated that for about two months the future two-time Hero of the Soviet Union S.A. Kozak chief of staff of the 7th Rifle Corps.
