814th IAP (since 24.8.1943 106th GIAP)
In early 1943 the regiment fought first at the South and then at the Southwestern Front. Its pilots flew Yak-1 aircraft. In the summer of 1943 it participated in the Battle of Kursk. It was involved in the liberation of Kharkov and the 3rd Ukrainian Front of Moldova. At that time he was armed with Yak-9 fighters. Gradually he was transferred to the 2nd Ukrainian and the 1st Ukrainian fraternity, where he participated in the Lvov-Sandomierz operation in late summer 1944.
