The Combat Log 9th Rifle Corps shows that the renaming of the corps to 9th Special Rifle Corps took place on 25.06.1941 on the basis of the order of the People's Commissar of Defence No. 4. Shortly before that (22.06.1941) the corps was renamed the 9th Special Rifle Corps.
