Army Ober-Commando
The High Army Command was established by order of October 16, 1849. It consisted of two parts - one was the general landlord and the head of the operational office, the other was the general adjutant headed by Count Grünn, who also headed His Majesty the Emperor's Central Military Office.
In September 1850, an organizational department was added to the general adjutant and operational office, and a military department was established during the general adjutant. In 1852, a department for military training facilities was established.
In 1853, the current Ministry of War was incorporated as III. section to the High Command. The General Adjutant became the I. Section, the Operations Office II. sections and departments for educational establishments IV. sections. At the head of the High Army Headquarters was Archduke William - first as the chairman of the conference of section chiefs and then as the head of the High Army Headquarters. At first it did not have its own office, but in July 1854 a presidial bureau was established.

At the head of this central military office was the Archduke William. In the years 1853-1857 officially as the chairman of the conference of the section chiefs of the Supreme Army Command ( Vorsitzender bei den Konferenzen der Sections-Chefs des Armee-Ober-Commandos) and in the years 1857-1860 then as the chief Army High Command ( Chef des Armee-Ober-Commandos).
In 1860, the Ministry of War was restored.
