DFC získal také od Američanů a Britové mu ještě v srpnu 1945 udělili OBE. Mehre pokrqčova u letectva i po válce a zastával řadu důležitých postů. Roku 1919 byl povýšen na generálmajora, v letech 1968-1971 by v čele norské vojenské mise v Bruselu. Následně velel vojenské škole. V letech 1973-1976 byl velitel pevnosti Akershus a poté odešle do penze. Napsal knihu vzpmínek, bohužel vyšla jen v norštině
