CBU-58A/B

Container bomb against infantry and lightly armored targets. Inflammatory potential. Contains 650 pieces of submunitions BLU-63/B in SUU-30A/B. This container is divided longitudinally into two halves. The stabilizing back surfaces are offset from the longitudinal axis by 1.25 degrees. As a result, the bomb begins to rotate after being thrown. The resulting centrifugal force allows the container to be opened and the submunitions to be swept away. It is stored longitudinally in the container and is scattered on both sides of the flight path. Unlocking - opening the container at a preset time or at the selected height is provided by the lighter. SUU-30 also uses CBU-52, CBU-71. 17,831 of these bombs were dropped in the Desert Storm.
