Note:		 Dne 6. srpna 1937 provedl velitel Armádního velitelství Sever, generál Mariano Gamir Ulibarri reorganizaci svých sil - starý armádní sbor Santander byl přeměněn na XV. armádní sbor, který zůstal pod velením podplukovníka José García Vayase. Formace měla čtyři divize a 177. smíšenou brigádu jako záložní jednotku. 14. srpna začala v oblasti očekávaná frankistická ofenzíva, která zahájila první útoky z jihu (kolem Reinosy), které byly doprovázeny silnými nálety. Od počátku bylo jasné že tuto situaci nemůže XV. sbor zvládnout, hlavně kvůli nepoměru sil mezi oběma stranami. V důsledku prvních porážek byl 17. srpna podplukovník García Vayas ve velení nahrazen výkonnějším Franciscem Galánem. Ale ani schopnosti Galána nestačily k zastavení republikánské katastrofy po zničení obklíčení u Reinosi, 17.8. Poté přišlo k všeobecnému stažení republikánské armády z oblasti a XV. armádní sbor byl 29. srpna 1937 kvůli těžkým ztrátám, které utrpěl, rozpuštěn. From the beginning it was clear that this situation can not XV. corps to cope, mainly due to the disparity between the two sides. As a result of the first defeats, Lt. Col. García Vayas, under command, was replaced on August 17 by the more powerful Francisco Galán. But even Galan's abilities were not enough to stop the Republican catastrophe after the destruction of the siege at Reinos, 17.8. Then came the general withdrawal of the Republican Army from the area and the XV. the army corps was disbanded on August 29, 1937 due to the heavy losses it suffered.
