From the report to the Chief of Staff of the South-Western Front dated 27.07.1941 on the status of manpower losses of the 15th Mechanized Corps, it is clear that this was signed by Colonel Sharov as the temporarily authorized Chief of Staff of the Corps. At the same time, archival data shows that the only colonel with the surname Sharov who ever served in the 15th Mechanized Corps was Nikolai Mikhailovich Sharov, who held the position of commander of artillery in the corps.
